Today is June 11th ten days after I started my ten day clean eating challenge. I was doing really good and lost four pounds but the last few days I didn't stay focused and gained some weight back. I think it was mostly that I didn't drink enough water and I hope to continue challenging myself week by week until clean eating becomes a habit rather than a challenge.
I have been doing pretty well with my exercising though and I can see a difference in my body. I would upload a picture but I can't figure out how so hopefully by the end of next week I will be able to!
Weight today was 206.6 lbs
Goal is still below 200lbs by the end of June!

June- BOOM!
Here is my June update post!
So for about three weeks after mother's day (which was great!) I lost all track and motivation on my weight loss, without acting healthy I was sluggish, grumpy and it was not fun. I eventually got started up again when I got shakology packets in the mail to try for free. They made me feel full and gave me back some energy and I went to the gym, I was overly ambitious and did 100 squats, 300 abs and a cardio workout. I was sore for almost a week after but because I believe I had built some muscle in the previous weeks of exercise I didn't gain as much back as I thought I would have. I started the end of may at 210 lbs. I got added to a mommy fitness group page on Facebook and they were starting a "ten day clean eating challenge" so June 1st I weighed in and was at 208lbs! I was already proud of myself.
Today is June 5th and I weighed in this morning at 204.0lbs!!!
Can you guys believe it?? I don't even remember when the last time I saw that number! It must have been when I was gaining the weight while pregnant!
My goals for June still stand:
1. Below 200lbs
2.able to run/jog on the treadmill for five minutes without stopping
3. (which should have been first) to stick to a program.
I am really excited and proud of myself. My under 200lb goal looks so close but so far away! Anyway, the clean eating challenge has really helped me out. I got a bunch of kale for .99 cents and it has lasted me a good week of making smoothies with frozen mango and strawberries and almond milk for one meal a day. Plus my wonderful, loving, supportive husband has been prepping all my lunches for work the last three days because I've had long shifts. I don't know what I would do without him. He is amazing :) I have had tuna salad with tomatoes and celery and cucumbers or carrot chips for lunch and it is so yummy! Especially with lime or lemon juice :) Oh and the almond butter! Oh. My. Goodness. Fresh made almond butter from whole foods has been amazing with celery or in smoothies, anhinga you could do with peanut butter you can do with almond butter!!
I think that is all I have rit now, just updated on my amazing weight loss, my awesome support system and my goals for the rest of the month. I will be updating again soon!
Ps. Thank you to all my friends and family who have commented on my posts with such encouragement I really appreciate every word! Thank you!

Moving it in May!
Hey everyone,
I wanted to take a minute and update on my progress. Since April 16th I have been motivated to keep p my healthy lifestyle. For our anniversary may 1st we went to Catalina Island but I had two many drinks and too many s'mores hahaha. I came home and had to work off some of the weight I had already lost but today I am at 207.6 lbs. only 4oz away from a total of 10 lbs lost in less than a month.
I made an instagram account (@mckenzies_motivation) specifically for tracking my progress and food that I like that is healthy. That is really helping because I can looks back and see what works and what doesn't, for me. Plus by using my instagram account I got an invite to a Facebook group that is having a challenge! It's called Moving in May and it started the Friday after we got back from our trip, thank Goodness! This challenge is great because it keeps me motivated to workout everyday and the coach has food of the week that we can make and moves of the week we can do to improve our health and fitness! It doesn't even cost me any money! Yay!
Yesterday we were out of town and I didn't work out and had way more carbs than normal. I didn't put myself down but I did notice my mood was a little off because working out gives me such a boosting energy and happiness. :)
I am excited to go to the gym today and really focus and get a good workout even though I'm sore from one of the onus challenges in our workout challenge. It was an ab challenge and everyone knows I have no ab muscles hahaha

I found it!
I found it, I found it! I finally found my motivation!
On April 16th I got up early and went to the gym, only because Nick and Charlotte were still asleep. When I got home, I felt so amazing I made sure I kept drinking water and ate a healthy breakfast, which led to a healthy lunch and dinner. The next day I weighed myself and I had lost two pounds! What??? If that isn't motivation I don't know what is. It has been a little over a week now and I have gone from 216.0 lbs to 209.6! Do you know how long it has been since I have been below 210 lbs?
January 26th 2012, my very first blog post. So, I have found that taking pictures of myself and what I am eating, plus my workouts and using my app called my fitness pal, I am staying quite motivated and determined. I even started my own instagram account for just documenting my weight loss and healthy lifestyle (@mckenzies_motivation) if you would like to check it out, feel free.
I feel like I have been studying weight loss for so long without having this drive to make it happen and now the things I would normally get hung up on aren't such a big deal. I am so excited about this and I am actually really proud of myself.

Weigh In
Hey everyone,
I am doing weekly weigh ins right now and last Monday I was at 218.0lbs. Today I am at 215.6lbs! Whew. I can't believe I have actually lost weight this week. I only did one workout at Planet Fitness, and I ate WAY too many oreos this week, but I have been trying to eat smaller portions and more protein. One of my friends suggested that I should eat carbs and protein in the morning, less carbs for lunch and none at dinner. I have been trying to keep that in mind when I choose what to eat at each meal.
Unfortunately, I have caught the stomach bug that my husband had this past weekend. I was doing good until I drank his water bottle by accident, whoops! Now my entire torso feels like it's turning into knots. Good news though, my headache from the last 24 hours has finally gone away!
Alright, time to feel better. Bye!

The Biggest Loser
Hello Family, Friends and Anyone Else That May Read This,
I don't know if you all have been watching The Biggest Loser this season but I have become so motivated by it! This season is The Biggest Loser: Challenge America, and it is focused on childhood obesity. I really have a connection to this season and even though before, I had only heard about Jillian Michaels, seeing her in action has really lit a fire in me. She also trained my favorite contestant, Danni.

She started at 258lbs, which is close to what I started at, and she has a similar body type to me. She has lost 64lbs so far and is in ONE-derland! I want that so badly! The picture above is her winning a challenge, her first 5K! Once she was done, she went back to her team mate and ran with her til the end! She is such an amazing person and I think I have picked the best role model for my journey. When she gave away her visit from home, I cried because I knew it was something I would do if I was in her situation and I was so proud of her. It's like you get to know these people so personally without them even knowing how many people are rooting for them!
Anyway, this show has inspired me and my husband to sign up for Planet Fitness, which is the gym that has teamed up with The Biggest Loser. I drive past it every day to and from work, and I couldn't believe it was only $10 a month and no commitment! Plus free personal trainers. I had my first workout there today, and I can honestly say, it was amazing!

I felt like I wasn't being judged and that I could really do this. I did my first ever 30 minute elliptical workout without stopping and I just kept telling myself that I had already achieved so much. That I could feel my legs burning but they were not going to give out. I felt so accomplished by the end of the workout that I couldn't wait to do more! I workout out in the 30 minute circuit training section and finished with 7 minutes on the treadmill. I still have a fear of treadmills but I am hoping to get past that soon. I also signed up for a "create your own workout" with a personal trainer for Friday morning, and picked up info on a 5K in downtown Anaheim, this coming June! It will be my very first goal, and I will feel just as accomplished as Danni did! (If anyone wants to sponsor me, I would not say no!)
Here's to getting my life back! Ps. You can watch The Biggest Loser on NBC on Monday nights, I use my ipad app to watch it whenever I can.
xoxo,
M

How Time Flies
It has been over a year since I started this blog. I was so motivated last year and I failed so miserably. My current weight is 218 lbs. Yup, I gained weight since I started my weight loss blog. So, I am here to change my blog, this will just be a lifestyle blog. A mommyhood, wife, and woman blog. So today, I wanted a healthier eating option for myself and my daughter. We had eggs and tomatoes for breakfast, and I made some granola snacks via pinterest. Which actually turned out great!

I took this recipe and used Karo syrup instead of maple and added honey and a little more vanilla extract. Nick and I both loved them but they are really for Charlotte. Instead of cookies or chips she can have granola bites! Yay! I feel like a good mommy.
Now, our exercise of the day is gardening. We are re-doing the backyard. So a little sweaty but that's ok ;) every Monday I will be weighing in to track my weight. Hope you all can join me in a new year of life!
Xoxo,
M
